From London the Anti-Rom collective, represented by Andy Cameron, showed their most recent musical work. Long time collaborators of Tomato and already veterans of the burgeoning multimedia installation scene the work caused quite a stir in the auditorium.

Anti-Rom began with a grant from the Arts Council of Great Britain to write a report on the possibilities of interactive media applied to fine art. They ended up creating software to illustrate the basic themes that they observed : play is the essential form of interaction, people get bored quickly, people like to play with sounds. And they havent looked back since ...

Downstairs at the Masonic Hall there was a section of installations where Anti-rom's work was shown along with a number of others. Particularly notable were Gilles Rollestone's "Urban Feedback Tokyo Installation ", Chris Hales' interactive films and Audiorom's "Trigger Happy" (also shown at this year's Sonar).

SKOT
gave a great show - mixing images in real time. They come from Austria and were accompanied by a guy making a kind of industrial ambient sound - driving many people from the Auditorium ! Unfortunately Pan Sonic's equipment got stuck in Memphis so we were not treated to their legendary soundscapes although we did get to see and hear their latest video, directed by Brian Griffin.
